Let me get one thing straight, I know next to nothing about Kansas City. I have never been to Kansas City, never read a book about Kansas City, never watched a documentary examining Kansas City from a unique angle. I am sure it is a nice place, it is simply off my radar. However if the quality of music coming out of Kansas City is an indication, it is probably a place I will visit before too soon.
Why am I going on and on about Kansas City? Well todays installment of Prairie Sounds features a band from that curiously named city. Life and Times is a band that I have been meaning to see for about two years but kept missing them every time they came through town. I finally got my shot this past fall when they played a show at Mike ‘N Molly’s in Champaign. They played a very enjoyable show despite the fact that the vocal levels were obviously out of whack. From what I can tell these guys have been touring their asses off for a while and deserve all the rewards they can get. Check them out…
